Do these seven things every morning to start your day with a smile and pep in your step!
I love to smile. I love approaching each day with a positive attitude. A huge reason I love what I do so much is because I believe sleep helps people to feel happier, smile bigger and approach the world with a new confidence that helps them achieve their biggest dreams - no matter what they are.
Here are just a few of my top tips on how to create a positive mindset so that you too can start every day with a smile:
Ask yourself “what do I need to do to make this day amazing?”
Start by waking up each morning, and thinking to yourself, what does your ideal day look like? What do you need to do in order to accomplish this envisioned day? This helps us envision the perfect day and holds ourselves accountable for what needs to be done to manifest this into reality.
Look great, feel great
Do not underestimate the power of a shower, putting on your favorite outfit, touching up with some makeup and conquering the world! Especially in the time of COVID and WFH, it can be tempting to stay in your PJs all day. I say fight that urge. Get up, get ready, and don’t forget the finishing touch to your outfit which should always be a smile. When we look great, we carry ourselves with confidence throughout the rest of our day in order to achieve our goals and aspirations.
Express gratitude and praise yourself with verbal affirmations
Start each day with looking in the mirror, and saying out loud three things you are grateful for. Then, give yourself three verbal affirmations of what you love about yourself. We are often too hard on ourselves, and starting the day with some much-needed gratitude and positive energy could be just what the doctor ordered.
Set your goals for the day
What are four things you want to accomplish this day? List them, big or small, and shift your energy into that direction to accomplish them. One day at a time, you will start to see your life take shape and eventually you will notice these long-term goals and aspirations become a reality.
Spend time with loved ones
Even if it is just a quick five minutes with your breakfast or morning coffee, work time into your mornings to ask your family how they are feeling today. The power loved ones have on our mood cannot be replicated in any other way.
Smile for no reason!
Flex the muscles first thing when you open your eyes. Smiling has been shown to reduce stress, reduce blood pressure and boost the immune system, which is all the more reason to do it as soon as we awaken. “Trick” your mind into being in a good mood, and soon you really will be!
Awaken from the best possible sleep
Wake up your weary head on the Polar Point Pillow from Pottery Barn for the best possible night’s sleep. This pillow is a fan-favorite of mine and my customers. Cool-to-the-touch, you will experience a deep, soothing relaxation that cannot be replicated with any ordinary pillow. The technology incorporated in the fabric absorbs excess heat keeping your body temperature regulated. This soothing sleep environment helps you relax and fall asleep faster as your body uses less energy to cool itself down.
